Milestones & Achievements Timeline

 Nov 2024 – Filed Deck Box patent at National Phase into the Five Eyes: 

USA, Canada, UK, Australia, and New Zealand 

 Sep 2024 – Published latest patent research at ADSTAR, supported by DSTG. 

 June 2024 – Received from WIPO a Clear  International Preliminary Report on Patentability (IPRP) for the Deck Box. 

 Feb 2024 – Provided technology briefing and investigation support to the Head of Navy Capability Division (HNC), via the Director Navy Industry Liaison.

 Nov 2023 – Shortlisted for the Indo Pacific 2023 Innovation Awards.

 Nov 2023 – Presented and published academic paper on the Deck Box at INDO-PACIFIC and the International Maritime Conferences (IMC). 

Sep 2023 – Completed full IP due diligence and advanced to final stage interviews for the Defence Trailblazer grant via the UNSW Defence 10X program. Although not awarded funding, ME-Innovations was invited to join the cohort and later selected as a guest lecturer, sharing insights with emerging Defence innovators.  

Jul 2023 – Wormald-sponsored product testing of the BAT conducted at TestSafe Australia, Londonderry. 

Jun 2023 – Filed BAT patent at National Phase into the Five Eyes: 

USA, Canada, UK, Australia, and New Zealand.

May 2023 – Secured teaming partnership with Wormald, including sponsored testing and business plan pitch. 

 Feb 2023 – Secured sponsored manufacturing support from Halliday Engineering. 

 Jan 2023 – Partnered with UTS Tech Labs to sponsor an Honours research project focused on adapting the BAT for civil defence. The collaboration delivered successful design and testing of a CO₂-compatible variant, targeting lithium battery fire threats in emergency and waste management sectors.

 Nov 2022 – Finalists in the InnovationAus Awards for Excellence in Defence Capability.
